International winds down the DuraStar as the MV607 takes over
International has confirmed the DuraStar will end production this year, closing out a two-decade run. The MV607 has effectively replaced it in dealer inventories, sharing its cab but with an updated electrical architecture.
Parts support for the DuraStar is committed through 2036, so existing fleets are not stranded. Analysts expect clean used DuraStar examples to hold value well with vocational buyers who prize the older, simpler wiring.
Buyers comparing the two should note the MV607 carries a roughly $4,000 premium new, most of which returns at resale. Fleet discounts on remaining DuraStar stock are the quiet deal of the season.
