Isuzu refreshes the NPR-HD with a quieter cab and smarter diesel

Isuzu has announced a mid-cycle refresh of the NPR-HD, the Class 4 cab-over that anchors half the box-truck fleets in North America. The update centers on a recalibrated 5.2L diesel that Isuzu says cuts fuel use around 6 percent in stop-and-go duty.

Inside, the cab picks up thicker door seals, a quieter HVAC blower and a 7-inch driver display borrowed from the larger FTR. Fleet buyers have asked for better telematics integration for years, and the new display ships with an open API.

Pricing is expected to hold close to the outgoing truck. If you need a truck before the refresh lands, dealers are discounting current NPR-HD stock now, and the closely related NRR remains unchanged for 2027.
